Our History

READ FOR AFRICA has trained hundreds of teachers, parents and other therapists on how to teach reading using the Phono-Graphix reading and spelling method since March 2000. Training was conducted in various centres including, but not limited to, Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Cape Town, the North West and Namibia.

These people have been empowered, through training, to be self-employed and start up their own reading therapy practices.

The educators that participated in the training programmes were from the schools, nationally represented, of which a few are;

Sparrow Schools, Constantia Kloof Primary, Saheti School, The Hamlet, Japari Remedial School, Parkview Junior, Forest Town, The Ridge, Kingsway School, Crawford College, Blairgowrie, Kingsmead College, Bordeaux, Jiswa Special Education School, Highlands North Boys High, Delta Park, Hatfield Christian School, The Johannesburg German School, Orban School, School of Achievement, Hamlet Adult Centre, Auckland Park Preparatory and several schools in Soweto namely: Lejoeleputsoa, Zakheni, Leresche, Thembalihle, Zithathele and
